Earlier this month Olly Lawrence from our Wellington Hospitality Sales Team and Dave Young from our Auckland Hospitality Sales Team went to Boston with our General Manager Tony Kerridge for the Specialty Coffee Association of American (SCAA) Symposium and Expo.

While there our guys meet with coffee growers, roasters, baristas and other coffee professionals from around America and the globe discussing all things coffee. The expo hosted the American Barista Championship, Brewers Cup Championship and Cup Tasters Championships where the best from around America compete for titles in their discipline. 

Olly and Tony along with some other team members will be off to Melbourne in May to the 2013 Melbourne International Coffee Expo where the World Barista Championships will be held.

ANZAC is next week and the anti-surcharge is back!

Join us at our College Street Cafe on ANZAC Day (25 April) where there will be no surcharge and 15% of proceeds will be donated to the RSA. 

So far the anti-surcharge has seen $3112 being donated to charities that contribute greatly to our society such as NZ Stoke Foundation and Wellington Free Ambulance. 

We will be open from 9am - 3pm on ANZAC Day.  

On Easter Monday (1 April) there will be no surcharge, instead we will be introducing the Anti-Surcharge.
For each public holiday we are open during 2013, we will not be charging a levy but instead we will donate 15% of our proceeds from that day to charity.

Opening hours for Easter:
Friday 29 March - Closed
Saturday 30 March - Open 8am-4pm
Sunday 31 March - Open 9am-4pm
Monday 1 April - Open 9am-4pm

Don't forget to drop in and pick up some chocolate coated coffee beans or a Pinocchio egg cup for Easter.

Congratulations to Nick Clark who was crowned New Zealand Barista Champion earlier this month.

Nick battled it out against baristas from all over the country in a gruelling three days of heats and finals. Nick will be heading to Melbourne in May to represent New Zealand at the World Barista Championship.

We are really proud to announce that Addison was named in the top six baristas in New Zealand. Both of our wonderful baristas, Addison and Longe, made it to the semi-finals.
