The Roasters’ Cup coffee is the epitome of the roasters’ craft: sourced from some of the world’s most interesting coffee plantations and roasted at our Auckland and Wellington cafes in small-batch roasters. These coffees are roasted to heighten the unique and special characteristics that the varietal and location bring.

For our October Roasters’ Cup we have two coffees available from Brazil – Antônio Carlos Machado and Paulo Sergio Lobo. These coffees are from the same region and similar altitude, the difference being the processing – Antônio’s is anaerobic fermentation and Paulo’s is natural.

Antônio Carlos Machado taste notes: Caramelized nuts with subtle cherry. The level of fermentation within the processing lifts the nutty notes to be sweet, almost candied in flavour. Subtle spice aftertaste.

Paulo Sergio Lobo: A clean and sweet roasted nut flavour with hints of toasted grains dominates. The body is big round and smooth. The sweet nutty aftertaste lingers without being overbearing
